Dental Implants in Renton

dental implantDealing with tooth loss? Dental implants at Hu Smiles in Renton are a long-term solution that restores chewing function and fills the gap in your smile with a long-term replacement. With over a decade of experience and advanced training, Dr. Yuchen Hu takes pride in helping patients transform their smiles with dental implants.

What are dental implants?

A dental implant is a tiny screw-like post made of titanium, so it’s compatible with your body. When placed in your jawbone during a brief surgical procedure, the dental implant integrates with the bone to create a natural-looking, long-term tooth replacement.

As the implant heals, it fuses securely with the bone around it. The post becomes a stable foundation for a crown, bridge, or denture that we custom-craft to match your natural teeth.

Why Choose Dental Implants?

You have several options when it comes to replacing missing teeth, but none of them offer the benefits of dental implants.
Restores Lost Function
No one will suspect you have implants. They're designed to look, feel, and function like natural teeth, and the custom restorations match your smile perfectly.
Fills Out Your Face
Unlike partial dentures, dental implants keep your jawbone strong and healthy, preventing the bone deterioration that leads to a sunken, aged facial appearance.
Stays Securely in Place
Because dental implants are secured in the jawbone, you don't have to worry about slipping, clicking, or the need for messy adhesives as you would with dentures.

Testimonial

Dr. Hu Was Incredibly Professional.

This was my first time ever having teeth extracted, and I had four done in total—two wisdom teeth and two infected molars—along with a bone graft, the whole procedure last 1 and half hour. Dr. Hu was incredibly professional and made the whole experience surprisingly easy. The anesthesia was administered perfectly, and I didn’t feel any pain during the procedure. It turned out to be a very nice experience overall! I highly recommend this clinic to anyone in need of dental care.

What happens during dental implant surgery?

From start to finish, getting dental implants can take three to six months. This might seem long, but each step is essential for creating a stable, long-lasting result.

  • Initial Consultation and Evaluation — Dr. Hu examines your oral health and takes digital x-rays and 3-D scans to evaluate bone density and plan precise implant placement.
  • Bone Grafting (if needed) — Some patients require bone grafting or sinus lift procedures to ensure there is adequate bone density for successful implant placement.
  • Implant Placement Surgery — Dr. Hu places the titanium posts surgically into the jawbone at our office under local anesthesia.
  • Healing and Osseointegration — Over the next several months, the implants fuse with the jawbone through a natural process called osseointegration.
  • Abutment Placement — Once healing is complete, Dr. Hu attaches a small connector piece called an abutment that secures the implant to the tooth restoration.
  • Final Restoration — Dr. Hu custom-crafts a natural-looking crown, bridge, or denture to the abutments to complete your smile.

Will the implant procedure hurt?

Implant surgery is performed under local anesthesia, so you should not feel pain during the procedure. We also offer nitrous oxide (laughing gas) for your complete comfort. Mild soreness afterward is normal and usually managed with over-the-counter pain medication or ice packs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Dental implants are considered one of the safest and most predictable treatments in modern dentistry. The procedure has a very high success rate when performed with proper planning and imaging.

Precise Implant Planning

At our office, Dr. Hu uses digital x-rays and CBCT scans to measure bone density and map the exact placement of the implant. This technology helps avoid nerves, sinuses, and other critical structures, reducing surgical risks and promoting stable long-term results.

Let’s Talk About Implant Risks

Like any medical procedure, implants come with potential risks. The most common are minor swelling, bruising, or soreness after surgery. These symptoms usually fade within a few days and can be managed with over-the-counter pain relievers.

Less common risks include infection, failure of the implant to fuse with the bone, or damage to surrounding teeth. If you smoke, have uncontrolled diabetes, or low bone density, we may recommend additional steps such as bone grafting to improve success.

The best way to reduce risks is through careful planning, good oral hygiene, and regular checkups. Most patients find that implants feel natural, work comfortably, and last for many years with proper care.

Dental Implants Technology

CBCT Cone Beam Technology

CBCT Cone Beam Technology

CBCT (Cone Beam Computed Tomography) creates detailed 3-D images of your teeth, jaw, sinuses, and bone structure in a single scan. This advanced imaging technology allows Dr. Hu to plan dental implant placement with precision, evaluate complex root canal anatomy, assess bone density, and diagnose TMJ problems with accuracy impossible using traditional x-rays.

The 3-D visualization ensures safer, more predictable treatment outcomes for implants, extractions, and complex restorative procedures while minimizing guesswork and complications.
